Our
Story
SINCE 2013

Pauliina and Simon first met at work in 2012 in Helsingborg, Sweden. They were co-workers and the first ever conversation they had was when Simon asked Pauliina if she could do him a (work) favour where she instantly threw out: Yes, I can do you.. This came out of the bushes for Simon but at the same time the incident woke up his curiosity for this straight speaking gal.

One thing led to another and a couple of months later they went on their first date together. That special day led to a whirlwind of dates over the summer from Helsingborg, to Amsterdam, to staying awkwardly neutral at work. That summer of fun blossomed into a love that neither expected. They decided to be THEM.

There was only one challenge for the life together: Simon was about to move to Switzerland to study which meant being away for four years and Pauliina had homesickness and wanted to move back to Helsinki - a long-distance relationship trial that could only be compared to the purgatory.

After four long, intense, although still passionate years, Pauliina and Simon finally moved together in London, but before that, they went on a trip to Tuscany to celebrate Pauliina's 30th birthday and the fact that they came out of the long-distance hardship being more in love with each other than ever before. During this trip, they explored the beauty of Tuscany, the history and it's love-binding atmosphere and made a promise that this would be the place to marry each other one day.

In December 2019, Simon proposed to Pauliina and the wedding plans were in full action with the plan to marry each other in 2022. During this time, an amazing tiny blessing decided to make a grand entre: baby Philip!

Along this journey, our family has met some of the greatest people in the world and we are both delighted and excited to bring you all together to celebrate us getting married!

Venue & Accommodation

CASTELLO
DI BIBBIONE

A CASTLE IN THE HEART OF CHIANTI

Join us at the breathtaking hills
of Tuscany

Castello di Bibbione is a wonderful castle situated in San Casciano in Val di Pesa, in the heart of Chianti, near Florence. The castle is surrounded by green vineyards and olive trees and the location dominates a beautiful view of the Tuscan countryside.

Built by the Cadolingi of Montecascioli, the Bibbione Castle is documented in ancient manuscripts since 997 and was acquired by Niccolò Machiavelli in the 16th century who used it as a hunting lodge. In 1985, a significant restoration of the castle was initiated, led by the Machiavelli family themselves to bring the castle back to its former glory.

The village includes various rooms and villas, almost all heated by a fireplace: each with its own personality, they share the characteristic of being furnished in traditional Tuscan style, the "brand" in the hospitality world of this region. They therefore have valuable antiques, romantic wrought-iron beds, original tiled and terracotta tiles, sought-after objects and furnishings, and warm-colored kilim rugs. In addition, there is a swimming pool, park and health centre on-site.
